Outer Banks Storm Damage 2011

FacebookGoogle+TwitterPinterestRedditDiggStumbleUpon

As you may already know, Outer Banks took a very direct hit from Hurricane Irene. Irene caused Major flooding and plenty of wind damage in many areas of the Outer Banks.  Although roads have been opened up to Kitty Hawk, Southern Shores, Kill Devil Hills, and Nags Head visitors, you may want to check with your Rental agency to make sure the house you rented had no storm damage. As of this morning, road leading to Duck, Corolla, and Corova is still closed to visitors, and NC 12 south of Nags Head is closed indefinitely (road to Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, Hatteras, Ocracoke…) . Useful link: Outer Banks Road Information - for NC travel conditions.
